                                                            TITANIC *  The RMS Titanic was a famous British passenger ship. * It was considered the largest and most luxurious ship of its time. * The Titanic began its maiden voyage on April 10, 1912. * It was traveling from England to New York City. * On April 14, 1912, the ship struck an iceberg in the North Atlantic Ocean. * The collision caused severe damage and the ship started to sink. * There were not enough lifeboats for all the passengers and crew. * The Titanic sank on April 15, 1912, and more than 1,500 people lost their lives. 🚢❄️

                                                             THE INTELLIGENT OCTOPUS *  The octopus is a fascinating sea creature known for its intelligence and flexibility. * Octopuses have eight arms lined with suckers that help them grip and explore their surroundings. * They can change their color and texture to blend into the environment, a skill called camouflage. * An octopus has a soft body, which allows it to squeeze through very small spaces. * These creatures are highly intelligent and can solve simple problems and puzzles. * Octopuses use ink as a defense mechanism to escape from predators. * Most octopuses live alone and prefer hiding in rocks or coral reefs. * They have three hearts and blue blood, which makes them unique among animals. *  Octopuses mainly eat small fish, crabs, and other sea creatures.  ...

                                                            THE HUMAN BRAIN *  The human brain is the most complex organ in the body. * It controls our thoughts, memory, emotions, and actions. * The brain is made up of billions of nerve cells called neurons. * These neurons send signals throughout the body. * The brain is divided into different parts, each with a specific function. * The cerebrum is responsible for thinking and decision-making. * The cerebellum helps control balance and movement. * The brain stem controls basic functions like breathing and heartbeat. * The brain needs oxygen and nutrients to work properly. * Keeping the brain healthy is important for a good life.

                                                                             SUN *  The Sun is a bright star at the center of our solar system. *  It provides light and heat that make life possible on Earth. * The Sun is made mostly of hot gases like hydrogen and helium. * It is extremely hot, with surface temperatures around 5,500 degrees Celsius. * The Sun’s energy is produced through a process called nuclear fusion. * Plants use sunlight to make food through photosynthesis. * The Sun rises in the east and sets in the west every day. * It is about 150 million kilometers away from Earth. * Too much exposure to sunlight can harm our skin. * The Sun plays an important role in controlling Earth’s climate and weather.

                                                “The Moon – Earth’s Natural Satellite” *  The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite and it orbits our planet every month.  * It shines at night because it reflects light from the Sun. * The Moon has different phases such as full moon, half moon, and new moon. * Its surface is covered with craters, mountains, and dusty soil. * The Moon’s gravity causes ocean tides on Earth. * Humans first landed on the Moon during the Apollo 11 mission in 1969. * The Moon has no air or water, so living things cannot survive there. * It takes about 27 days for the Moon to travel around Earth once. *  The Moon looks different sizes in the sky depending on its position and phase. * The Moon is one of the brightest and most beautiful objects we can see in the night sky.

                                                          ANTS  Ants are small insects that live together in large groups called colonies. They are known for their hard work and teamwork. Ant colonies have different roles such as workers, soldiers, and a queen. The queen ant’s main job is to lay eggs and grow the colony. Worker ants collect food and build tunnels underground. Ants can carry objects that are many times heavier than their own body weight. They communicate with each other using chemicals called pheromones. Ants are found almost everywhere in the world except very cold places. These insects help the environment by cleaning up food and organic waste. Even though ants are tiny, they play an important role in nature.

                                                            MARTIN WICKRAMASINGHE *  Martin Wickramasinghe was one of the most famous writers in Sri Lankan literature * .He was born in 1890 in Koggala, a beautiful village in southern Sri Lanka. * Martin Wickramasinghe wrote many novels, short stories, and essays during his lifetime. * His writings often described the culture, traditions, and daily life of Sri Lankan people. * One of his most popular novels is Gamperaliya, which tells the story of social change in a village. * His books helped readers understand the transformation of Sri Lankan society. *  Martin Wickramasinghe is considered a pioneer of modern Sinhala literature. *  His stories are still studied by students and loved by readers today.  * The Martin Wickramasinghe Folk Museum in Koggala was built to hono...

                                                            MOON *  The Moon is the only natural satellite of the Earth. * It shines brightly in the night sky by reflecting light from the Sun. * The Moon has many craters that were formed by meteor impacts long ago.  * It goes through different phases such as new moon, half moon, and full moon.  * The gravity of the Moon helps control the ocean tides on Earth. * The first humans landed on the Moon during the Apollo 11 Moon Landing in 1969. * Neil Armstrong was the first person to walk on its surface. * The Moon has no air or water, making it a very harsh place for life.  * Scientists continue to study the Moon to learn more about space and the history of Earth.  * Even today, the Moon inspires people around the world with its beauty in the night sky.

                                                 MY FAVOURITE NOVEL *  My favorite novel is Mayi Mara Prasangaya. * It was written by Mahinda Prasad Masimbula. * This book was selected as one of the top five outstanding novels for the Swarna Pusthaka Award in 2024. * The novel is based on the life story of an individual. * It presents the real conditions of society through its story. * The author’s writing style is simple yet filled with deep ideas. * Other works by Mahinda Prasad Masimbula include Hiruth Hima Piyallaka, Ahi Piyan Herila, Senkottan, Manikkawatha, and Apoyiyawa. * The novel is interesting to read and gives readers many deep thoughts.
